June 29, 2017 – The Night Quizz at Yelf’s Hotel had 50 people and raised £150. Raffle raised £51, so total £201. Subtract £30 Yelf’s fee and £10 prize, means new money £161 for HRS fund.
June 14, 2017 – Graham Street has given a very attractive and informative talk about Island Bats Hospital in front of more than 30 guests and members of HRS at Yelf’s Hotel. Bringing two bats and feeding them in front of the audience added more excitement to the presentation, which helped raising £162 for the HRS fund.
May 25, 2017 – The Night Quiz at Yelf’s Hotel had 29 participants raising £87 –raffle raised £40–total £127. Expenses £30 Yelf’s, £10 prize and £10 raffle prizes–so £77 new money to HRS fund.
May 17, 2017 – Dr Noel Stimson has given a brilliant talk about Royal National Lifeboat Institution in front of guests and members of HRS at Yelf’s Hotel. Raffle and entry raised £75–after £30 donation and £10 for raffle prizes, we raised £35 for the HRS fund.
April 27, 2017 – The Night Quiz at Yelf’s Hotel had 47 participants and raised £146 for the HRS fund, after Yelf’s payment of £30 and £10 prize, with the raffle raising £45.
April 12, 2017 – Kenneth Hicks has given a talk about Brannon’s engravings at the Yelf’s Hotel in front of 15 participants and raised £78 for HRS fund.
March 30, 2017 – The Night Quiz at Yelf’s Hotel had 34 participants and raised £152, with £50 raised only from Rafflle. After paying Yelf’s £30 and £10 for the prize, £112 is the total amount for HRS fund.
March 25, 2017 – The Collectors Fair organised by Jerry Bryett raised £175. Thanks to John King who manned the door and the Masonic Hall entrance and to Gillian Drewett and Brian Harris for manning the kitchen.
March 8, 2017 – Jo Cooper has given a talk about the childhood memories from her time growing up on the Isle of Wight between 1950s-1960s, which was attended by 28 people and was a good laugh. Ticket sales raised £164 , raffle tickets £40 and donation of £4 from two book sales for the HRS fund.
February 23, 2017 – Despite Hurricane Doris, the NightQuiz at Yelf’s Hotel had 29 people . Takings were £126, so after £30 to Yelf’s and £10 prize we made £86 profit for the HRS fund.
January 26, 2017 – The Night Quiz held at Yelf’s Hotel had 43 participants and raised £172 for the HRS fund, after paying Yelf’s £30. Thanks to Alan Brading who helped raising £63 with the raffle and to the other members who donated the £10 prize.
January 12, 2017 – John Matthews has given a talk in front of over 20 people about Jabez Balfour, probably the greatest financial fraudster in British history, and his unfulfilled plans for Bembridge. The event has helped raising £114 for the HRS fund.
